HARRY Spyers scored a hat-trick as Swanage & Wareham thrashed Oakmeadians 50-10 in Dorset & Wilts One South.

Also touching down were Lee Hardy, Craig Foskett, Joe Desmond, Matt Roberts and Kirk Jones.

Steve Woolley added 10 points with the boot to help Swans to second in the table, with three wins from their opening four games.

Despite soaking up some intense early pressure, Spyers outpaced his opposite number to touch down the opener close to the posts on 21 minutes. Woolley added the extras.

Oaks responded with a try in the corner before a scrum-half Lee Hardy recorded Swans’ second score of the afternoon.

Hooker Foskett was then pushed over to score following a line-out move to put the Bestwall side 19-5 up at the break.

After the restart, Swans showed their power to earn the bonus point. Desmond touched down when the visiting pack had forced Oaks back from a five-metre scrum.

Swans were now in cruise control and on 57 minutes a slick move had centre Roberts racing through to score a fifth try.

A mistake by the visitors in their own 22 enabled Oaks to record a consolation effort – by this time the hosts were reduced to 13 fit players, meaning scrums had become uncontested.

Winger Spyres did not let up however, he touched down twice in the latter stages either side of flanker Jones crossing the whitewash.
