DORSET’S Georgia Hall has been shortlisted for the Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year award.

The Wimborne-based professional shot to stardom in August after capturing the Women’s British Open, becoming the first English winner of the event for 14 years.

Hall is shortlisted for the accolade alongside top stars Katie Archibald, Dina Asher-Smith, Vicky Holland, Rachel Atherton and Lizzy Yarnold.

The prize’s judging panel includes the likes of Rebecca Adlington, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Hall, 22, has also been nominated for Young Sportswoman of the Year alongside Izzy Atkin, Seonaid McIntosh and Grace Reid.

The winners will be revealed on Thursday, November 1.

Meanwhile, the world number six helped England finish tied for second at the UL International Crown in South Korea.

The former Canford Kid beat American Cristie Kerr 2&1 during Sunday’s singles.
