POOLE Town boss Tom Killick insisted the FA Cup’s lucrative prize pot did not come into his players’ minds.

Dolphins tomorrow face a replay against Isthmian League South East Horsham at Black Gold Stadium (7.45pm), with £15,000 and a spot in the fourth qualifying round up for grabs.

The sides played out a 1-1 draw at Culver Road on Saturday. The winners of the tie visit Isthmian League Premier Haringey Borough for £25,000 and a place in the first round proper.

But Killick insisted the opportunity to face some of the Football League’s big guns would be more on his side’s mind than the riches of the prestigious competition.

He told the Daily Echo: “I don’t think the players think about the money at all.

“They are wanting to do well for the club in terms of that but, for a non-league player at this level, if at the end of your career you have made it through to the first round maybe once or twice, you are probably doing quite well.

“That’s what it is all about. Since I have been a manager we haven’t achieved it and I think that is the main focus of the players.

“The money the club makes from their point of view is something they are very happy about but their priority is trying to get themselves into the first round proper.

“We still have two rounds to navigate before we even think about that."
