SWINDON’S Nick Morris is to guest for Pirates in the first leg of the SGB Premiership play-off final against King’s Lynn.

The Australian has been called on to cover for compatriot Brady Kurtz, who broke his collarbone in a frightening crash against Somerset last time out.

Morris, 24, will have a key role to fulfil at Wimborne Road on Monday with Pirates hoping to build a good lead ahead of Wednesday’s second leg.

Pirates boss Matt Ford told the Daily Echo: “I have great faith in Nick. I have called upon his services several times and he has played his part in our successes.

“He is someone I have great regard for and, of course, I know he will give it his all when he dons the skull and crossbones and that’s all you can ask.”

Kurtz fell after clipping Rebels flier Jack Holder during his first ride against Somerset. Both riders were unfit to continue and the spill caused an hour’s delay to racing at Wimborne Road.

Poole are due to contest their first play-off final in three seasons and will hope to secure silverware in the club’s 70th anniversary year.
