CHERRIES star David Brooks has been included in the Wales squad for fixtures against Spain and the Republic of Ireland.

The 21-year-old has been in sublime form for Eddie Howe’s men this season and scored his maiden Premier League goal with a dazzling first half-strike in Monday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Signed from Sheffield United for £10million in the summer, Brooks has started all but one of Cherries’ top-flight contests – his only omission coming during last month’s 2-0 defeat at Chelsea.

He has made five senior appearances for Wales, three of which have come under Dragons boss Ryan Giggs.

Wales host Spain in a friendly at Principality Stadium on Thursday, October 11 before heading to Aviva Stadium to take on Ireland in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, October 16.

Meanwhile, striker Joshua King has been called up for Norway’s Nations League fixtures against Slovenia and Bulgaria.

The frontman has scored 12 goals in 35 senior games for his country.

Norway will host Slovenia in Oslo on Saturday, October 13 before taking on Bulgaria at the same venue three days later.
