DEFENDER Charlie Daniels made his return from a knee problem during Cherries under-21s Central League Cup 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon.

The experienced full-back had been out since the end of August with the injury. His most recent Premier League appearance came in the Dorset club’s 2-2 home draw with Everton.

Daniels was named in a strong starting XI which also included first-team members Jack Simpson, Tyrone Mings and Marc Pugh.

Winger Pugh tapped in at the back post to earn Cherries the advantage after good work from Alex Dobre.

But the Dons levelled with a headed effort 10 minutes from time to earn a share of the spoils.
