DOUBLES for Cameron Beard and Tony Rolls ensured Bashley’s blistering September continued to gather pace.

The pair both netted twice as Bash overcame Hellenic League Royal Wootton Bassett 4-0 away from home in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.

Bash have now won four games in the calendar month, scoring 18 times without reply.

They will host Baffins Milton Rovers in the first round proper of the Vase on Saturday, October 13, with £825 in prize money at stake.

Baffins emphatically progressed after beating New College Swindon 14-1 on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the Vase, Mickey Finch struck a hat-trick as Poppies overcame Christchurch 3-1 at Victoria Park to set up a home showdown with South West Peninsula League Newquay.

James King netted a late consolation for Priory.

Dan Cann, Sam Bayston and River Smith were on target in Hamworthy United’s 3-1 win at home to Fawley. Hammers will visit Shaftesbury in their first-round encounter.

James Thomson and Mo Nyang scored in the second half as Brockenhurst won 2-0 at US Portsmouth, meaning they will visit Longwell Green Sports.

Western League Longwell Green knocked out Dorset Premier League Swanage 3-0 at Day’s Park.

Ollie Davis’s extra-time strike earned Verwood a replay tomorrow at Alresford Town, after a 1-1 draw between the sides at Potterne Park.

Should Potters progress, they would host Hellenic League Abingdon United in the first round.
