RYAN Fraser revealed how his calculated “risk” to declare himself fit had paid huge dividends after a dazzling display against Leicester.

Currently in the form of his life, the 24-year-old made himself available for selection despite having picked up a niggle in his hamstring.

The Scotland international, who has scored four goals in six games for the Dorset club this season, sustained the problem on international duty.

Having been assessed by the club’s medical staff, Fraser came through training with Cherries 24 hours before Saturday’s showdown.

The Aberdonian went on to score twice and provide an assist for Adam Smith in the 4-2 triumph, moving Cherries to fifth in the Premier League.

He told the Daily Echo: “It was 50-50 whether I was going to play. I came through my first day on Friday.

“Me and the gaffer made the decision that it was worth taking the risk. It was an important game and the risk paid off.”

He added: “We have always been a team to score goals but this season is different.

"We are creating so much more and are finishing as well, which is one thing we have lacked in the past couple of seasons.”
