DORSET’S Georgia Hall ran out of steam in her quest to land back-to-back major titles.

The world number eight eventually finished in a tie for 16th at the Evian Championship after a three-over-par finale.

Following three rounds of 68 to put her in contention at Evian Resort, Hall carded a closing 74 to drop down the leaderboard.

Two birdies cancelled out two dropped shots during the opening nine for the Canford Kid in France today, as she reached the turn in 35.

But a five at the par-four 10th hole followed by a double-bogey at the 12th meant Hall finished six under for the tournament, six strokes behind winner Angela Stanford.
