RYAN Webb produced the performance of the day as Wimborne AC won the final match of the season in the South West League in Exeter.

Webb broke the league record in the senior men’s high jump (2:15m) and followed up with an impressive triple jump win (12:61m).

Despite his exploits, Wimborne's spirited attempt to overhaul league leaders Taunton failed narrowly as they were pipped for honours by a solitary point.

Wimborne's other star performers were Abbie Lovering in the under-17 long jump (4:43m), Harry Woods in the under-13 long jump (4:37m) and Jack Williams who came third in the high jump (1:25m) ahead of his twin brother Tom on countback.

Kane Aubrey and Charlie Davies were second and third, respectively, in the under-17s hammer.

Jamie Newnham (11.88s) and Kane Aubrey (11.92s) recorded a one-two in the under-17 100m. Aubrey (24.16s) was second to Newnham’s third (24.26s) in the 200m.

Pippa Hine won the senior women’s 100m (12.76s) and the 200m (26.35s), while Erin Thickett was third in the under-17 100m (13.16s) and 200m (27.02s).

Harry Woods registered two second places in the 100m (13.84s) and 200m (28.19s), Ronnie Debique was third in the 200m (23.53s) and second in the 400m hurdles (62.63s), while Lovering won the under-17 300m hurdles (46.47m).

There were also dominant performances from Max Meadwell in the under-17 3000m (10.04.22), while Tom Fuller won the under-15 event (10.23.87) and was backed up in third by Joel Green (10.29.69).

Joey Kelliher was second in the under-20 800m (2.02.58) with Ben Martin third in the under-17 event (2.12.60) just ahead of club-mate Seth Lake. Iris Courtney stepped up an age group to finish third in the under-15s (2.34.18).
