HAYLEY Davis is up with the leaders at the France Open – 11 months after caddying at the tournament.

The Poole-born ace was on the bag for close friend Georgia Hall when she finished tied for 14th in the Ladies’ European Tour event.

And Davis, who has produced no fewer than five top-10 finishes on the LET Access Series in 2018, today took centre stage when she fired a two-under-par 69 at Golf du Medoc near Bordeaux.

With caddy and mum Samantha looking on, the Ferndown-affiliated player got off to a dream start with four birdies in the first 10 holes.

Bogeys at 13, 15 and 16 sandwiched a birdie at 14 but the former Brockenhurst College student is still well in the mix.

Davis told the Ladies’ European Tour: “I hit most of the greens on the front nine and they were rolling really nicely so I made a few putts.

“I hit the ball close on a couple of holes and played really solid.

“I am playing a lot on the Access Series so that has been really helpful and it has been nice to get some top-10 finishes.”
