TOM 'TJ' Jacques cracked his maiden Southern Premier Division century but his Bashley team-mates had little else to celebrate as they slumped to a sixth successive defeat, losing by eight wickets to Havant.
Jacques was upstaged as Richard Hindley scored his first hundred in eight years, his undefeated 103 proving decisive for the displaced champions.
Havant’s Richard Jerry (6-41) struck three early blows before Jacques was joined at the crease by Josh Digby (41), with Bashley wobbling at 33 for three.
Jacques made 123 (two sixes and nine fours) and added 110 with Digby for the fourth wicket before Jerry’s second spell ended the Bashley innings at 225 for nine.
Kevin Nash quickly removed Havant opener Stu Ransley but any prospect of Bashley ending a disappointing season on a positive note effectively ended with Peter Hopson (37) and Hindley taking the score to 100 before the second wicket fell.
Hindley reigned supreme after that, hitting two sixes and 12 fours in an unbeaten 103, sharing an unbroken stand of 129 with Chris Stone (56) as Havant cruised home with five overs to spare.
