CHERRIES defender Jack Simpson is training with England under-21s ahead of their European Championship qualifiers.

The 21-year-old missed out on a place in the squad for clashes with the Netherlands and Latvia.

But he was invited to train with the Young Lions at St George’s Park prior to Thursday’s meeting with the Netherlands at Norwich City’s Carrow Road headquarters.

Simpson is not an official squad member, unlike Cherries team-mate Lewis Cook, and is therefore not eligible to feature.

Under-21s boss Aidy Boothroyd watched Simpson play 90 minutes of the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over MK Dons last week.
