WIMBORNE Town will host Dorset rivals Dorchester in a hotly-anticipated FA Cup derby.

The two sides were drawn together for the first qualifying round, which is set to take place on Saturday, September 8.

Cuthbury boss Matty Holmes will face his former club with the winners of the tie banking £6,000 in prize money.

He spent four seasons at the Avenue during his time as a Dorchester player and helped the county town side seal the 2002-03 Southern League Eastern Division title.

Wimborne will be looking for revenge on their Southern League South counterparts, having earlier this month lost 4-2 at home to Dorchester in league action.

Holmes’s side booked their place in the first qualifying round with a resounding 6-0 triumph over Wessex One Newport on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Poole Town are set to visit Wessex Premier Shaftesbury, while Hamworthy United make the trip to Sholing in an all-Wessex League encounter.

Lymington Town will host either Royal Wootton Bassett Town or Lydney Town.

The Hellenic Premier Division pair are set to contest a replay after a goalless draw in their first preliminary round fixture.

Winners of the cup battles will book their place in the draw for the second qualifying round, where £9,000 is up for grabs.
