NEIL Middleditch insists Pirates must make teams “fear” them as the race for the SGB Premiership play-offs heats up.

Having jumped from sixth to third following Monday’s thumping victory at Leicester, Poole tomorrow face a King’s Lynn side also hoping to reach the top four (7.30pm).

Just six points separate the top six and team boss Middleditch knows the magnitude of what is at stake.

He told the Daily Echo: “It’s still an uphill climb and we know what we have to do. The race is on, that’s for sure.

“We are certainly not complacent. Even when we were winning at Leicester, I told the boys not to take their foot off the gas.

“We need to show what we’ve got and make teams fear us.

“We need to win our home matches and pick up points away from home. To pick up four at Leicester was a massive step up the ladder.”

King’s Lynn have won their past four meetings, three of which were at home.

The Stars’ only away victories this season have been at Leicester and Belle Vue, although they drew at Somerset at the end of June.

Poole have triumphed in three home league meetings in a row, against Leicester, Belle Vue and King’s Lynn.
