JOSH McQuoid and James Hayter rolled back the years with goals for a Cherries Legends XI against Weymouth Legends in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare.

The charity contest at Bob Lucas Stadium featured the likes of Carl Fletcher, Warren Cummings, Jason Tindall and Stephen Purches for the visitors and finished in a 2-2 draw.

McQuoid opened the scoring for Cherries after eight minutes when he lifted the ball over onrushing Weymouth keeper Jason Matthews and into the net.

The Terras soon found themselves level in light-hearted fashion when a ball forward enticed visiting keeper Gareth Stewart to come way off his line.

Weymouth’s Lee Phillips beat him to it before dribbling to the goal-line and kneeling down to head the ball into the net.

The hosts took the lead on 40 minutes when striker Mark Ford was brought down inside the box. Skipper Matt Bound duly stepped up and fired home the resulting spot-kick.

Weymouth manager and former Cherries midfielder Mark Molesley tested Matthews with a fine effort in the second half before the visitors drew level just past the hour mark.

Striker Hayter rounded the keeper and side-footed into the empty net with 62 minutes on the clock.
