VETERANS' AC's Andrew Ridley won the men's senior race at the fourth meeting of the Poole Runners summer series at Upton House.

Ridley (20.03) was followed by BAC's Steve Way (20.08) following his recent third place in South Africa’s Comrades Ultra Marathon with Westbourne Running Club's Mitchell Griffiths (20.10) third.

There was a clean sweep for Poole Runners in the woman's senior category with Serena O’ Connor (22.31) leading home Fern Kimber (22.51) and Kate Phillpotts (24.08).

Will Goss and Susanna Forster continued to dominate the junior series, with Goss claiming his fourth successive victory in the boys' category.

The 11-year-old (5.53) was followed by Poole AC's Henry Elliot (6.01) and Poole Runners' Freddie Kimber (6.05).

Poole Runners' 13-year-old Forster (6.13) also won for the fourth time in a row and was closely followed by club-mate Georgina Stokes (6.13) and Zoe Steel (6.16).

Poole AC trio Matthew Ashton, Duncan Cooper and James McCafferey finished ahead of Westbourne Running Club and Poole Runners to win the men's team prize.

And Poole Runners' O’ Connor, Kimber and Phillpotts of Poole Runners won the women's team event ahead of Lytchett Manor Striders and Poole AC.

Race five of the six-race series is on Wednesday, July 25.
