CHERRIES goalkeeper Adam Federici has completed a permanent move to Stoke City.

The Australian international is understood to have joined the Potters for a nominal fee after finalising terms on a two-year deal.

Federici joined Cherries on a free transfer from Reading in 2015 following the Dorset's club promotion to the Premier League.

But he was forced to play second fiddle to Artur Boruc during his first season at Vitality Stadium and then dropped further down the pecking order following the arrival of Asmir Begovic.

Federici made just 17 appearances for Cherries during his three-year stay, the last of which came in the third round of the FA Cup in a 3-0 defeat at Millwall in January 2017.

Capped 10 times by his country, Federici joins former Cherries team-mate Benik Afobe at the bet365 Stadium.

Federici, who had a year remaining on his contract with Cherries, will replace Lee Grant, who has joined Manchester United.
