FIFTIES for Harrison Bowles and Mark House helped guide leaders Wimborne & Colehill to a four-wicket victory over Dorset Premier League rivals Martinstown.

Chasing 199 for victory at the Leaze having lost the toss and been asked to bowl first, opener Bowles (52) put on 81 for the first wicket alongside Colin Randall (32).

House (50), helped accelerate the scoring with his total coming from just 56 deliveries.

A flurry of wickets in the middle order kept the visitors interested, but the Minstermen managed to secure their eighth win in nine games.

Earlier in the day, opening bowler George Bartlett returned standout figures of three for 20 from nine overs.

Poole all-rounder Badrul Alam put in an impressive performance as his side sealed a 57-run win over Bere Regis.

Alam struck 86 from 87 deliveries at Poole Park to help the hosts post 286 for seven batting first.

He also returned one for 34 with the ball, as Poole kept the pressure on leaders Wimborne.

Elsewhere, Broadstone duo Luke Carter (64) and Daniel Cook (73*) set the platform for Broadstone’s 78-run triumph against Stalbridge.

Having posted 274 for five at the Delph, Mike Holm (4-34) played a key part in restricting the visitors to 196 for nine.
