PIRATES asset Kyle Newman has been released by SGB Premiership play-off chasers Leicester.

The 26-year-old displaced the joint between his shoulder and collarbone in Lakeside’s home win over Berwick in the Championship earlier this month.

And he has lost his Lions spot alongside Danny King, with Ricky Wells and Charles Wright the incoming riders.

Co-promoter Dave Darcy told the club website: “We are sad to see Danny and Kyle leave because they are two great guys.

“It was a situation which had to be dealt with and these decisions have been made in the best interests of Leicester Speedway.”
