DORSET star Georgia Hall is tomorrow set to begin her third major of the season when she tees it up at the Women's PGA Championship.

The 22-year-old will compete in a 156-strong star-studded field at Kemper Lakes Golf Club, Illinois.

With prize money of £2.75million at stake, Wimborne-based Hall is part of a line-up which includes the top 100 on the LPGA money list and all but three of the highest-ranked players in the world’s top 40.

She is due to start her quest on the 10th tee alongside playing partners Michelle Wie and Nelly Korda (7pm UK time).

Ranked 41st in the world, Hall finished in a tie for 46th in last year’s event, held at Olympia Fields.

She missed the cut at the ANA Inspiration in this season’s opening major and last month secured a tie for 34th at the US Women’s Open.

An overall score of six under par earned the former Canford Kid a tie for 28th in her most recent start at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

America's Danielle Kang returns to defend the crown, which has been competed for since 1955.
