TEAM manager Tim Hughes set his sights on promotion to the second tier of the British Athletics League after Bournemouth AC dominated their Division Two match at Nuneaton.

Ronnie Wells won the 100m in 10.43s, with debutant Joel Harvey the B string runner-up in 11.04s.

Piers Copeland clocked 1:50.80 for 800m victory and new recruit Ayomide Byron won the 110m hurdles with a wind-assisted 14.98s.

Bradley Pickup (7.32m) and James Lelliott (6.65m) achieved maximum long jump points. Lelliott also won the triple jump with 13.98m.

Lewis Sainval was second in the high jump (1.93m), with Cameron Hale’s 1.73m winning the B string.

Hughes said: "We have stepped up to a new level this year. New guys in the team are making a significant difference. Our promotion dreams could soon become reality."

Meanwhile, Steve Way and Jacek Cieluszecki took the main men’s prizes at the Poole Festival of Running.

Way won the 10km in 32:41 as he tunes up for another ultramarathon challenge.

Cieluszecki dominated the half marathon, a new addition at this year’s festival.

He achieved a winning margin of more than five minutes off the back of running 41.82 miles to win the Wings for Life Race in Melbourne, Australia.
