WIMBORNE & Holt celebrated two memorable victories at Dorset County Youth cup finals day earlier this month.

Their under-11s edged out neighbours Poole Town Colts following a thrilling final which was settled in extra-time.

Goals from Harrison Marsh and Aldo Bertorelli put Wimborne & Holt 2-0 up at half-time and it looked all over for Poole Town when Jasper Bowley added a third to increase their lead early in the second half.

However, Poole Town came storming back and showed great resilience to level through Louie Dawson, Anthony George and Lucas Marsh.

But Sam Webb’s finely-taken free-kick in extra-time won the trophy for Wimborne & Holt.

Meanwhile, Will Fletcher’s clinical hat-trick spearheaded Wimborne & Holt to victory in the under-16 final against Westland Sports.

His first-half double and further goals from Lucas James and Michael Viera saw Wimborne & Holt ease into a 4-0 lead at the interval.

Fletcher completed his treble in the second half while a second from James, a Jack Greenslade double and an effort from Cameron Smith saw them run out 9-3 winners.

Goals from William Rabjohns, Cole Edwards and Kieran Sheriff proved in vain for Sturminster Marshall as they tasted defeat in a dramatic under-12 final against Dorchester Town Youth (Raiders) which also went to extra-time.

Rabjohns opened the scoring in an evenly-contested final before Edwards struck from a free-kick to make it 2-2. Dorchester forged 4-2 ahead in extra-time before Sheriff pulled one back to set up a tense finale, although the Magpies held on.

Although Jack Langen netted twice and Frankie Castillo-MacPherson once, Poole Town lost out 4-3 to Weymouth in the under-14 final.
