HOME town hero Matty Legg vowed to do his intimidation in the the ring after admitting he would again see the funny side of the staredown.

The 25-year-old middleweight is tomorrow due to step on the scales at the Hilton Hotel ahead of his Southern Area title fight against Tey Lynn Jones at Bournemouth's O2 on Friday.

Legg missed out on Southern Area glory in October after being outpointed by Danny Butler, who had taken an intense approach to the weigh-in.

Bournemouth boxer Legg, who trains out of Bendall's Gym, told the Daily Echo: "He walked up to me and was staring at me really intensely and I thought 'he's done this before!'

"I couldn't stop laughing because I'm not really like that. I couldn't stare at someone and not laugh. It's awkward.

"This time I will probably still laugh. My intimidation will be done on the night. I will probably just give him a little laugh and show him I'm not fazed."

Bournemouth welterweight Joe Hayes is due to fight Louis Greene for the Southern Area title on Saturday.
