WOLVES are rumoured to have "launched a bid" to sign Cherries star Benik Afobe on loan.

The Express & Star reported Wolves had begun an attempt to bring back the 24-year-old striker, who has not scored a Premier League goal since April.

However, the newspaper stated Cherries' favoured options were either to sell Afobe or loan him out with a view to a permanent deal, while Wolves only wanted the DR Congo international on a one-off loan.

Meanwhile, the Daily Echo understands Watford could be preparing to take Afobe to Vicarage Road.

West Brom have reportedly made contact with the Hornets over Troy Deeney and if the frontman departs, that could pave the way for a bid for Afobe.

The former Arsenal youngster has scored 10 goals since joining Cherries from Wolves two years ago.

Aston Villa have also been linked with a loan move for Afobe.
