REPORTS linking Cherries youngster Emerson Hyndman with "a stunning return" to Scottish giants Rangers are understood to be wide of the mark.

The Sun reported the American midfielder was on the brink of heading back to Ibrox for a second spell on loan.

However, a source close to the Daily Echo suggested this was without foundation.

Signed from Fulham in the summer of 2016, Hyndman has made five appearances for Cherries and spent the second half of last season with Rangers.

Meanwhile, Mihai Dobre has joined League One strugglers Rochdale on loan until the end of the season.

The Romanian winger spent the first half of the campaign at Bury.
