EMERSON Hyndman insisted he had been wrongly credited with scoring an own goal against Wigan.
The American midfielder was part of the defensive wall for Nick Powell's first-half free-kick during the FA Cup third-round clash.
Powell's goal-bound effort looped up off debutant Connor Mahoney and into the far corner but many media outlets reported Hyndman had scored an own goal.
Hyndman told the Daily Echo: "I've heard people might be claiming it's me but it went just past my head.
"It happened so quickly but it didn't hit me."
Hyndman completed his first 90 minutes in a Cherries shirt in the 2-2 draw at Vitality Stadium, making his first start in a year for the Dorset club in the process.
He added: "It was a bit weird coming straight back into the side and starting again but you have to be ready when called upon.
"We've had quite a few injuries recently and I've been on the bench here and there. Thankfully, I was able to come in today and I tried to help the team.
"We didn't start very well but we showed up in the second half. We created a lot of chances and could probably have scored more goals."
