ATHLETICS: Dorset duo Cameron Hale and Bethan Burley won the senior titles at the South West Schools’ Combined Events Championship at Yeovil.

Hale amassed 5,799 decathlon points, including personal bests in the 110m hurdles (16.43) and long jump (6.25m).

Burley posted career bests in four of the seven heptathlon elements – 100m hurdles (14.85), high jump (1.56m), 200m (25.97) and 800m (2:21.82).

Her 4,866 points total places her fifth in the national age group rankings.

Olivia Galloway (fourth) and Hannah Sherborne (ninth) provided strong support to secure team gold for Dorset.

Abbie Lovering edged junior girls’ individual bronze from Polly Yule, with Sian Meadows completing Dorset’s winning team.
