AMY Brown struck gold seven times to lead a medal bonanza for Swim Bournemouth as the club hosted its Easter Open Meet at Littledown.

The 12-year-old also made the podium on all four competitive strokes.

Brown’s magnificent seven came in the 11-12yrs 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

But she had settle for silver in the 50m butterfly.

Her eight medals were among 118 won by the host club – 47 gold, 34 silver and 37 bronze.

Drew McGregor’s eight medals included gold in the 13-14yrs 100m and 200m breaststroke, 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly and 100m individual medley (IM).

Milo Treloar’s five medals were all gold as he won the 11-12yrs 50m and 200m freestyle, and 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Nine-year-old Halle Harris had a weekend of mixed fortunes.

Her five medals included gold in the 9yrs 50m and 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 100m IM.

But she also experienced the steep learning curve that faces the youngest competitors, incurring four disqualifications for reasons that included a false start, a faulty backstroke turn and a one-handed touch.

Three golds apiece went to Swim Bournemouth’s Georgina Hawkins, Leon Riggs and Millie Sleeman while Izzy Hepburn, John Mouskis and Hugo Young each won two golds.

Also winning gold for Swim Bournemouth were Callum McGregor, Ella Bowman, Jacka Ware, Anthony Leung, Finn Pardy, Kelvin Wong, Elizabeth Dawson, Kath Baker, Abby Manns and Charlotte Head.

Liam Duffy and Charlie Meek dominated the boys’ 10yrs age group to lead Poole’s medal tally with four golds each.

Duffy won the 50m and 200m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 200m IM, Meek the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle and 50m fly.

Team-mate Lily Burke struck gold three times – in the 9yrs 50m and 100m breaststroke and 200m IM.

Poole swimmers achieved a clean sweep of the 10yrs girls’ breaststroke with Tilly McHugh winning the 50m and 100m and Zoe Steele the 200m.

Breaststroke gold also went to Poole’s Jack Goddard (9yrs 50m) and Ollie Weston (15/o 50m).

Bournemouth Collegiate School’s Lottie James won the 15/o 100m breaststroke and 200m IM while Trevin Michelo won the boys’ 200m breaststroke in the same age group.

Tanya Blanchard won the 13-14yrs 100m breaststroke for Wareham and District.
