CHERRIES chief executive Neill Blake has labelled as a "huge prospect" club-record signing Jordon Ibe.

The winger yesterday completed his big-money move to Vitality Stadium from Merseyside giants Liverpool.

England under-21 international Ibe, who came through the youth ranks at Wycombe Wanderers, had been at Anfield for four and a half years.

He made 41 appearances for the Reds in all competitions last season, including six games in the Europa League as the Reds reached the final.

Reflecting on the completed deal, Blake said: "We’re delighted to bring Jordon to the football club.

"He played plenty of football with Liverpool last season and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to grow with us, he’s a huge prospect.

"We’ve now signed five players this summer, all of whom have an abundance of potential.

"It shows that we’re serious about nurturing talent at this football club and we have the long term in mind when we say we want to stay in the Premier League."

Benik Afobe was Cherries' previous record signing having joined the club from Wolves in January for a fee of around £9million.

Blake was speaking to the club website.
