CHERRIES have made a double swoop for youngsters Mikael Ndjoli and Mark Travers.

The duo will link up with Stephen Purches's under-21s squad after joining the ranks at Vitality Stadium.

News of Cherries' interest in striker Ndjoli was first revealed by the Daily Echo in May, the 18-year-old signing a one-year deal having scored 20 goals in 24 games in the Millwall youth ranks.

Seventeen-year-old goalkeeper Travers, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at under-18 level, has also signed a one-year contract after impressing during a trial.

Purches said: "Mikael came in for a game in the summer and he really grabbed it by the scruff of the neck.

"His stats from last year at Millwall prove he can score goals and they told us he was really unfortunate not to get a professional contract.

"But in pre-season so far he’s looked very sharp and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do. He’s an exciting talent.

"As for Mark, we were recommended him for his form over in Ireland.

"It wasn’t just myself who was impressed but everybody from the first-team staff. He’s a lovely lad and has a lot of attributes for someone so young."

Purches was speaking to the club website.
