ARENA Boxing Club’s Raven Chapman won the 57kg title at the England Boxing Elite Championship Finals in Liverpool.

In a hard-fought contest at the Echo Arena, Chapman saw off number three seed Hatty Nylon (Hebden Bridge BC) by split decision.

As a result of the victory, she became the first Dorset boxer to win the national crown.

Meanwhile, a string of exciting bouts were staged as Arena Boxing Club held their latest show at Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel.

Michael Badger looked dominant in his skills contest against Horseshoe ABC’s Harvey Ward, while Bailey Ward beat Horseshoe’s Freddie Woodcock on points.

Liam Anderson was a unanimous winner against City of Portsmouth ABC’s Olly Miller but Marianne Michael was edged out by Putney ABC’s Izzy Wilding.

Ethan Maddocks’s first bout in 18 months saw him earn victory over Horseshoe’s Owen Sutton, who was subject to a couple of standing counts.

Late replacement Luke Anderson gained valuable experience against undefeated Welsh novice champion Joe Smith (Caerau Ely ABC).

Ellis Head beat Atheq Ahmed (Blackbird Leys) while Charlie Redmond-Smith, in his first bout in a year, sunk Yeovil ABC’s Charlie Cowley.
