SCOTT Mitchell predicts that seeds will tumble in the Winmau World Masters tomorrow as he bids to avoid a shock against veteran qualifier Larry Butler.
Lakeside world champion Mitchell has been handed a tie with 1994 World Matchplay winner Butler in the last 32 at Hull City Hall.
And the Bransgore thrower says a fast start will be essential if he is to defeat 'The Bald Eagle' at the Eurosport-televised event.
Mitchell told the Daily Echo: “Everyone thinks you have a big advantage if you are seeded but the qualifiers have been playing for two or three days when you get there.
“The seeded players, like myself, haven’t played that format for a year so the early games are very difficult.
"You will find that a lot of seeds will go out and my aim is to get through the first round, find a bit of confidence and build from there.”
Mitchell is set to face a man in form with the 58-year-old Butler having today beaten Dennis Harbour to secure his place, 48 hours after sinking ex-Lakeside champion Scott Waites to qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts.
