FORMER Swansea City star is reportedly a £5million target for Cherries according to Italian daily newspaper Gazzetto Dello Sport.

The Dutch midfielder, currently plying his trade with Serie A club Napoli, spent two season-long loan stints in Premier League with the Swans, making 71 top-flight appearances and scoring nine goals.

Having made his name with Feyenoord, 27-year-old de Guzman moved to Mallorca and then Villareal in Spain but was sent to Swansea for the two out of his three years before completing a free transfer to Napoli.

He played 23 league matches in Italy, 11 from the substitutes’ bench and netted three times.

A full Dutch international, de Guzman has 14 caps and played in Holland's 5-1 thumping of Spain in the 2014 World Cup and played a significant role in Swansea lifting the League Cup in 2013, netting twice in the final against Bradford City.

Quizzed on the speculation at today’s press conference, boss Eddie Howe said: “We don’t comment on transfer targets out of respect for everybody concerned, the player and the club, and will do our business in private.

“We have not made an offer for anyone at this stage but we are looking to add.”
