SWANAGE and Wareham ran in seven tries as they blitzed High Wycombe 45-3 in South West Two East.

It was nip and tuck in the opening exchanges, but once the Buckinghamshire side had two players sin-binned, Swans were quick to take advantage.

Richard Harwood was first over for Phil Graves' troops after the Swans catch-and-drive proved too powerful for the under-strength Bucks boys.

A breakdown on halfway five minutes later was picked up by Graves, who offloaded to full-back Chris Leak whose turn of pace was enough to score in the corner.

Graves himself added a penalty right on half-time to put Swans firmly in control at the break.

Jonny Blackmore continued the good work with a try just after the restart, before hooker Robert Elford added a fourth touch down.

John Sheldrake piled over 10 minutes later from another catch-and-drive to make it 33-3 and Blackmore added his second just moments later.

Graves converted Blackmore's effort and was over the line himself just before the final whistle to make it 45-3.

Swans: Leak, McKeown, P Graves, Grove, Blackmore, Harris, Sammons (Gephaert, 55), Sheldrake, Tomes (Andrews, 52), Jones (Hesscroft, 72), Burgess, Penney, Harwood, R Elford, M Elford.

LIONS' WALKOVER

David Dunn's Lions were handed a home walkover against Aylesbury in South West Two East after the Buckinghamshire outfit failed to raise a front row for their clash at Chapel Gate.

The two points mean Dunn's side stay in second place, after Redingensians (top) and Salisbury (third) both won at the weekend.

Dunn's charges are without a game on Saturday, after they pulled out of the Dorset and Wilts Cup at the quarter-final stage.

Lions, however, travel to top-of-the-table Redingensians on March 31 in a clash that could decide which side clinches automatic promotion into South West One.
