BOSS Eddie Howe plans to play a transfer window waiting game before deciding whether to loan out any other members of his first-team squad.

Howe gave the green light for Joe Partington to join Conference outfit Eastleigh, while development squad pair Jayden Stockley and Josh Carmichael have signed for Luton and Welling, respectively.

And while Howe said a number of the club’s other youngsters could be sent out to gain valuable experience, he also indicated he would hold fire on making any decisions regarding first-team players.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “Potentially, some development squad players will go on loan to further their education but, in terms of the first-team squad, I don’t see anything happening imminently.

“We will wait and see how the window unfolds before making any decisions.”

Midfielder Shaun MacDonald, who is expected to be a loan target for a number of clubs during the window, played a starring role and netted during Cherries’ FA Cup third-round win at Rotherham on Saturday.

MacDonald, who bagged his first goal since September 2012, had previously made three appearances during Cherries’ League Cup campaign but has not featured in the Championship this season.

Howe said: “Shaun has always been in the frame to play. With his technical ability and attitude, we have never, and would never, rule him out playing regularly in our first team.

"The unfortunate thing for Shaun is that he is vying with the likes of Harry Arter, Andrew Surman, Eunan O’Kane and Dan Gosling to get involved and that is a very strong quartet of midfielders.”
