POOLE Town have bolstered their threadbare attack ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup date with destiny by completing the loan signing of Cherries prospect Jordan Chiedozie.

The fleet-footed 19-year-old has joined Dolphins for an initial month and goes straight into Tom Killick's squad for the fourth qualifying round match at Staines Town.

Chiedozie's last-ditch move came about after Killick had discovered that strikers Richard Gillespie and Michael Charles would be sidelined for the clash alongside the suspended Dan Cann.

The Tatnam boss had been sweating on confirmation from both the Southern League and the FA after getting the necessary details emailed to both just prior to today's 12 noon deadline.

But having received the green light, the former Dorchester Town and AFC Totton loanee has the opportunity to make himself an instant hero as Poole seek to end their 30-year wait for a place in the first round proper.

Killick told the Daily Echo: “Richard and Michael both seem set for another week out and would need time to get fully match fit again, so we felt it was important to get in some additional firepower ahead of a game of this magnitude and with the fixtures we have coming up.

“Bournemouth have kindly agreed to us taking Jordan for a month. He came highly recommended by both Warren Cummings, who has trained with their (Cherries') development squad this season, and their coach Stephen Purches, who was very helpful.

“We always felt confident it would go through but collectively breathed a sigh of relief when we had it confirmed.”

However, despite being eligible for the trip to Staines and any subsequent replay, Chiedozie will not be able to feature in Poole's FA Trophy replay against Frome Town, scheduled for Tuesday, as he was not signed prior to the initial fixture.

The hot-shot, son of former Spurs winger John, has scored regularly for Cherries' development side this season. He was an unused substitute in Dorchester’s FA Cup victory over Plymouth Argyle last season and came off the bench to feature in AFC Bournemouth's pre-season friendly against Real Madrid.
