DORSET golfing sensation Georgia Hall insisted she had learned her lesson after failing to capitalise on a stunning start to her debut major.

The 16-year-old is this week rubbing shoulders with the world’s leading players after being invited to compete in the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills in California.

Amateur ace Hall, who is a member of Remedy Oak Golf Club near Horton, was one-under-par after her opening eight holes of the tournament.

But dropped shots left her with a seven over 79, with the round one leaders on four-under-par.

Writing on her Twitter account, Hall said: “Was -1 through eight then stupid triple. Let it affect me then chased birdies, didn't work but lesson learnt.”
