Cinemas remain closed across the country due to the coronavirus outbreak - however some of the biggest new releases are instead being made available to stream.

Trolls World Tour, the sequel to 2016's spiky-haired, animated original, is being released online the same day it would  have been out in the cinemas.

Here's everything you need to know about it.

  • What is Trolls World Tour about?

In Trolls World Tour, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return in an adventure that will take them well beyond what they've known before.

Poppy (Kendrick) and Branch (Timberlake) discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock.

Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder; a member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb, aided by her father King Thrash, wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme.

With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who's looking to upstage them all.

  • Who stars in it?

Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) stars as Poppy while Justin Timberlake (The Social Network) is Branch. The pair return to Trolls World Tour, having starred in Dreamworks Animation’s 2016 hit Trolls.

Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) voices Queen Barb, a member of hard-rock royalty and her father King Thrash is played by Ozzy Osbourne.

James Corden (Gavin & Stacey) plays Biggie, Caroline Hjelt (Nerve, Vacation) is Chenille, Aino Jawo (Nerve, Vacation) stars as Satin, Ron Funches (6 Underground) is Cooper and Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory) is Diamond.

Cast as members of the different musical tribes is one of the largest, and most acclaimed, groups of musical talent ever assembled for an animated film.

From the land of Funk are Mary J. Blige, George Clinton and Anderson .Paak.

Representing Country is Kelly Clarkson as Delta Dawn, with Sam Rockwell as Hickory and Flula Borg as Dickory.

J Balvin brings Reggaeton, while Ester Dean adds to the Pop tribe. Anthony Ramos brings the beat in Techno and Jamie Dornan covers smooth jazz.

World-renowned conductor and violinist Gustavo Dudamel appears as Trollzart and Charlyne Yi as Pennywhistle from the land of Classical.

And Kenan Thompson raps as a hip-hop newborn Troll named Tiny Diamond.

  • Why has the Trolls World Tour release date changed?

“Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable," said Universal boss Jeff Shell in a statement

“We hope and believe that people will still go to the movies in theatres where available, but we understand that for people in different areas of the world that is increasingly becoming less possible.”

  • Where can I watch it?

Trolls World Tour was due to be released in cinemas on 6 April, but will now be available to watch at home from the same date.

You can find it on the Sky Store, Amazon Prime Video, iTunes/Apple TV, and Google Play.

The film costs £15.99 to download or stream.
