ITV has axed one of its reality TV shows, fronted by Olivia Attwood, after just one series.
The Heat, which launched earlier this year on ITV, saw 10 aspiring young chefs thrown into Jean-Christophe Novelli’s new exclusive summer restaurants in the Port Vell Marina, Barcelona, in the hope of finding the next rising star.
The 10 contestants also lived together during the reality series, with the cameras capturing all the tension, drama, and blossoming romances among them.
ITV axes The Heat after one season
ITV has now confirmed The Heat won't be returning for a second series.
An ITV spokesperson, via The Sun, said: "There are no plans for a second series of The Heat but audiences can watch the first series on ITVX."
An insider for the publication added: "The Heat showed a lot of promise, but given that it was a long series and it was filmed abroad, and featured two big names fronting it, the show was not cheap to make.
"So it had to serve up some seriously meaty ratings, which it just didn’t achieve. But competition in TV is particularly stiff right now."
Olivia Attwood "very happy" with career as she films new TV series'
Attwood, in a previous interview with the MailOnline, said she is "very happy" with her career.
Despite The Heat being axed, the Love Island star is currently filming several other documentary series for ITV, including Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection.
Both of these series were also recently picked up by Disney+.
Alongside her TV work, the Love Island star also has a popular podcast called Olivia’s House, and a lucrative seven-figure deal with beauty retailer LookFantastic.

A source previously told The Sun: “Olivia’s LookFantastic deal is worth a high seven figures, and she also signed an exclusive deal with La Roche Posay as part of it.
