Sir Keir Starmer has resigned as Prime Minister, with several of his cabinet members now in line to replace him.
The Prime Minister had defied mounting calls to quit following days of intense pressure from within the Labour Party and a growing number of public calls from MPs and cabinet ministers to step down.
But now, Sir Keir has confirmed that he will step down as Prime Minister, after overwhelming pressure from Labour MPs to make way for Andy Burnham to become Labour leader.

Despite initially resisting calls for him to step down, Sir Kier has now resigned as Prime Minister.
