A DORSET-based folk band will headline a special charity concert this weekend to help buy a new MRI scanner for Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The Polly Morris Band will perform a matinee concert at Boscombe's Shelley Theatre on Saturday afternoon.

They will be joined by the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir.

Bournemouth Hospital Charity’s Mini MRI Scanner Appeal aims to raise £300,000 for a new scanner.

It is hoped the new scanner will lower waiting times and provide more comfortable treatment for radiology patients.

Sara Armstrong, Bournemouth Hospital Charity community fundraiser, said: “The Polly Morris band are putting on a show that promises to be an amazing day of entertainment, fun and laughter for all.

“The band has amazing energy, and performs music and comedy in equal measures.

“We couldn’t make the improvements we do for patients without the ongoing generosity and support of our community and groups like the Polly Morris Band. We really do appreciate all their efforts!”

Tickets for the concert are £12 per person and are available from shelleytheatre.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01202 413600.
