DANCERS of all ages dazzled with spectacular performances at Poole Arts Centre in a display of the region’s best performers.
The date was June 6, 1989, when members of the Western Association of Ballet Schools staged three performances of specially written and commissioned productions in a combined performance called In Concert.
Around 150 dancers from six dancing schools took part - the youngest being six, the eldest a mature adult.
The stage came alive with colour, action, entertainment and musical interpretation as the themes of the productions painted pictures of various periods of history.
First on stage were members of the Dorchester Ballet Club who interpreted various orchestral instruments while wearing black costumes.
They were followed by a more classic performance from the Milton Academy of Dancing who had Chopin as their theme.
Other performances came from Janson Modern Stage School, the Academy of Dance Stage School, Sea View School of Dancing, and the Wessex School of Dancing.
