Family and local history is very popular. A new Family and Local History Club starts at Bournemouth Central Library in the Triangle on February 5 at 2pm and then on the first Friday of each month. The programme includes how to use electoral registers, civil registration, street directories, old maps, cemetery records, the Ancestry website and how to create family trees.
There are also Family History Group meetings on the first Friday of each month at Charminster Library at 5.30pm and the second Friday at Southbourne Library at 10am.
Former Heritage Librarian Jan Marsh is giving a talk on the development of Bournemouth as a resort on February 3 at 11am at Bournemouth Central Library.
