This picture shows Bowleaze Cove in 1929 and is a postcard from the Andy Hutchings Collection.
Soon after 1929, the area started to develop as an attractive alternative to the main beach and campsites and, later, caravan parks were developed.
The art deco Riviera Hotel was built in 1937 and the present panorama bears little similarity to the somewhat rustic scene portrayed here.
