Celebrations for the 75th anniversary of VE Day may have been cancelled, but plenty of us will mark this momentous occasion at home under lockdown.
In Dorset as VE Day heralded the end of the Second World War in Europe, there was dancing on the Esplanade in Weymouth, parties in dance halls across the county and celebratory teas at multiple villages.
Street parties were held everywhere, with this large gathering in Chickerell village attracting dozens of youngsters and their parents.
Flags were flying from houses in towns and villages across Dorset. Shops in Weymouth town centre were decorated and a thanksgiving service was held in front of the Gloucester Hotel on Weymouth seafront.
The American Red Cross held celebrations in Weymouth that went on until 2.15am.
The following day there was dancing on the promenade and fireworks and catherine wheels burst into the sky to mark the occasion.
