LET'S delve into the Herbert collection and remember when some showbiz greats graced the stage at Weymouth Pavilion.

You'll see the work of another former Dorset Evening Echo photographer on these pages but here we bring you a couple of images from Graham V Herbert, who was the first photographer to be used by the Dorset Echo before the newspaper set up its own photographic department.

Herbert's images of Weymouth have been digitised and indexed by the Dorset History Centre.

The first picture we bring you is of comedian Benny Hill, who was photographed by Graham Herbert at Weymouth Pavilion in 1960.

Benny Hill was appearing at the Pavilion's official opening following the building, then known as The Ritz, catching on fire in 1954 following the misuse of a blow lamp. The second interesting photo we have to share is of entertainer Eric Sykes, who was captured at Weymouth Pavilion by Herbert's lens.

Celebrity guest Eric Sykes was among the wave of big names appearing at the Pavilion as it flourished during the 1960s.
