MAJOR refurbishment of a Bournemouth church is nearing completion.

The work at United Reformed Church, Luther Road, Winton, includes a brighter and more welcoming entrance with a small café-style seating area, refurbished kitchens, energy efficient boilers and lighting, and a lift.

A new sound system has also been installed as well as internal and external redecoration.

Throughout the works, the Winton URC congregation has continued to find space in the building for their Sunday worship at 10.30am. The improvements have been funded and overseen by the URC (Wessex) Trust limited.

Fellow URC, Bournemouth International Church, will take on joint responsibility for running and maintaining the building from March, with their activities taking place in the building, including Sunday worship at 2pm.

The building will be known as The URC Centre. A formal service to celebrate completion of the work and sharing of the building will take place on 14th April at 3pm.
