THE weather is set to take a turn for the worst across Dorset this week - with thunderstorms forcast from Wednesday. 

Forecasters are saying some places in the yellow warning area are likely to see thunderstorms from Wednesday evening from 6pm to Friday morning at 6am.

The warning states there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail and strong winds.

Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

The weather for today, Tuesday, June 15, will continue to be sunny and bright as seen across the last few days. 

However, this will be the last of the summer-time weather for a few days at least. 

Forecaster Bournemouth and Poole Weather has said that we will have another decent day with long sunny spells and a light breeze.

UV levels also continue to remain high today and sun protection should be worn if you are planning on spending a prolonged period outside.
