PLANS to open a new gym on a Christchurch industrial estate have been submitted.
Applicant Leighton Girling, who manages Tone Fitness Ltd, is seeking permission to change the use of unit 5 on Christchurch Business Park, Radar Way, to run a fitness suite.
Mr Girling currently runs an operation on a Poole business park under the same name, which specialises in "small group personal training".
The unit is currently unoccupied and according to the application paperwork this has been the case since October last year.
If approved, the gym would have two full-time and three part-time members of staff, although its opening hours are not yet known.
A neighbouring unit has already pledged its support to the plans. In response to the proposals, Paul Downey, of unit 7 at Christchurch Business Park, said: "A good facility to add to the business park."
